The CERT Centre for Supercomputing provides access on demand to the first and only Blue Gene in the SAMENA (South Asia, Middle East and North Africa) region. CERT Blue Gene provides the ability to adapt to critical business and computing requirements of users and processes data at the teraflop level (trillions of calculations per second).

CERT in addition, to owning the first Blue Gene in the region joins a prestigious international network called the BlueGene/L Consortium. In its current phase, the CERT Centre for Supercomputing provides 5.7 Teraflops of Supercomputing power. This mammoth capacity is being used in collaborative research with national and regional industries and will also be offered on demand to research institutions, colleges, universities,government and private sector companies with large data processing requirements. The CERT Blue Gene ranks among the top 75 fastest computers in the world. It is the fastest in the region and is capable of running modelling applications much larger and faster than any regional competitor. Clients with constrained budgets and limited requirements can gain access to the Blue Gene system by paying only for the amount of capacity reserved. Thus, clients contract for variable power and services to meet short term needs as well as planned or unplanned peak workloads. Accessing the Blue Gene through the Centre for Supercomputing helps clients quickly tap Blue Gene power while helping to reduce financial and technical risk.

The Blue Gene is a foundation stone of a new National Research Centre (UAE National Research Centre) developed by CERT and planned for deployment at the CERT Education and Research City in Abu Dhabi.
